Serving on the STC Board

I have been honored to serve on the STC Board of Directors as a director since 2019. In this role, I worked with the rest of the board to make strategic decisions and act tactically when required. As a director, I generally contributed to carrying on the work of the Society, while balancing long-term plans. In the budget setting process and at every meeting, I helped to execute our fiduciary responsibility and ensure the continued operation of the Society.

Dungeons and Dragons: My Other Life

If you Google “Bethany Aguad” or follow me on social media, you will find everything is related to two interests:

  • STC and technical communication
  • Dungeons and Dragons

In my non-STC life, I produce a Dungeons and Dragons podcast, DnD RAW, with my husband and friends. At the 2018 Summit, I was surprised and thrilled when an attendee at my presentation asked me a question about what kind of characters I like to play. This reinforced what I have always believed: that the qualities and aptitudes that lead us to technical communication also make us outstanding players of tabletop role playing games.
